Description

The SkyWatcher AZ5 mount is designed to provide versatility and ease of use for astronomers who are constantly on the move. Its altazimuth design allows for simple up-down and left-right movements without the need for polar alignment. With its 2 symmetrically positioned control knobs, you can achieve precise fine-tuning even when observing at high magnifications. For maximum pointing speed, the mount can be manually directed in both axes by releasing the brakes.

With a payload capacity of 5 kg (with an optional male Vixen-style dovetail), you can use binoculars up to 100-120mm in diameter or Maksutov telescopes up to 127mm, and even small Newtonian reflectors (note the tube length in the latter case). The retractable aluminum tripod is easily transportable. It’s a perfect combination (mount + tripod) for the nomadic observer!
